Product Description:
General information
Zestril is in a group of drugs called ACE inhibitors. ACE inhibitors stands for angiotensin converting enzyme. It is used to treat high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and to improve survival after it.
Directions
Follow the directions on your prescription label. Zestril can be taken with or without meal a day, at the same time. Only after approx an hour you take antacid you can use Zestril.
Precautions
Do not use Zestril if you are pregnant. It could harm the unborn baby. Drinking alcohol can further lower your blood pressure and may increase certain side effects. Drink plenty of water each day while you are taking this medication. Do not use Zestril if you are allergic to lisinopril or to any other ACE inhibitor.
Contraindications
Avoid using the drug if you have an allergy, angioedema or if you are pregnant.
Possible side effect
Zestril may cause feeling like you might pass out,
urinating more or less than usual, fever, flu symptoms, muscle weakness, uneven heartbeats, chest pain, rapid weight gain, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, depressed mood, upset stomach or jaundice if you have liver problems. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.
Drug interaction
Avoid using Zestril with a potassium supplement or salt substitutes that contain potassium or gold injections that can produce sickness, retching or low blood pressure.
Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is time for your next scheduled dose. Don't take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose
Call emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Overdose symptoms may include giddiness or sickness.
Storage
Store your medicines at room temperature 15-30 C (59-86 F). Store away from moisture and light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
