General information
Proscar is prescribed for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (benign enlargement of the prostate). It active ingredient is Finasteride. The medicine helps to diminish urinary retention, control disease symptoms and reduce the risk of surgery.
Directions
It is recommended to take the drug with a glass of water with or without food. Turn to your doctor regarding proper dosage for you.
Precautions
Before starting your treatment tell your doctor if you have an allergy to any ingredient of the drug or any other allergies.
Contraindications
Women,children and patients with hypersensitivity to the medicine can't use Proscar.
Possible side effect
Side effects can be the following: dizziness, unusual weakness, drowsiness, trouble sleeping, blurred vision, runny nose, ejaculating problems. If you experience one of the following side effects painful penis erection that lasts 4 hours or longer, severe dizziness or fainting contact your doctor immediately.
Drug interaction

Missed dose
Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time of the next intake just skip it and go back to your schedule.
Overdose
If you think you have overdosed the medicine seek emergency medical help at once. The overdose symptoms are chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat, and feeling light-headed or fainting.
Storage
Store the medicine at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep all drugs away from reach of children and pets.
